I offer a range of genealogical services:
Family History Research in Yorkshire
Any research will start with a free initial consultation, where I can assess your requirements, estimate the likely time and cost of the research and provide details of where the sources maybe found. During the initial consultation I will need to know what you would like me to research, what you already know including birth, marriage and deaths, and what research, if any, has already been carried out.
Subsequent research will be agreed and charged at an hourly rate (minimum of two hours), plus expenses. I will agree potential expenses costs before I begin the work and inform you if this changes. I will not charge for travel time to Archives, but will charge travel costs such as train, bus or mileage.
During the research I will provide regular updates and inform you of any issues or delays.
At the end of the research I will produce a report containing my findings and a family tree, plus any certificates, photographs and copies of wills and other documents as appropriate.
I will provide full information of sources searched, but it must be remembered that the information may not exist. Some records may be missing, destroyed or ambiguous. I will still charge for research time even if this is the case.
